Samper, the 29-year-old former Barcelona midfielder who joined the Polish team Lublin Motor this summer as a free agent, talked about his views on Yamal and his relationship with former Barcelona players such as Messi in an interview with Polish media TVP Sport.

What do you think of Yamal?

"I am very impressed that he can shine so quickly in the competition with the world's top players. He is only 17 years old. It's incredible. On the court, he is mature and experienced. You can see that he is very confident. I also admire Bernal and Kubasi. These players are the same age and look excellent."

Does Yamal have a chance to become the second Messi?

"For me, any comparison with Messi is meaningless because he is the best player ever and no one has the chance to get close to his level, but I think Yamal can become one of the best players in the world this season."

Talking about Messi

"Being able to fight and train with Messi is a very important moment in my career. This is a rare opportunity. You can see how much he cares about the team and success. He has given everything for this."

How does Messi treat young players?

"He gives us advice, everyone around him knows what kind of person Messi is, everyone respects and admires him very much, sometimes we just need to see their actions to understand, no words are needed."

How is your relationship with Messi?

"I learn as much as I can from him, but not only from him, but also from Iniesta and Xavi, they are the best players ever in their respective positions, and the time at Barcelona was wonderful."

How is your relationship with former Barcelona coaches such as Luis Enrique and Valverde?

"The time I worked with Luis Enrique was incredible, I played about ten games and got a chance to play. Valverde is a completely different style. I personally like Luis Enrique more, but Valverde is also a good coach."

Was the Barcelona team you were in one of the best teams in history?

"Of course, we won all the championships we could win in one season."

Are you still in touch with anyone from that team?

"Yes, I sometimes contact Iniesta, Xavi and Roberto."

Looking back now, do you think that team should have won more?

"Yes, we had Messi in the team, he is the best player in history, as long as we have such players, we can win the game."

Do you think you can play in such a team?

"Barcelona is my home, where I was born, grew up and learned to play football. I always believed in myself and hoped to enter the first team one day. I had a big adventure and experienced something incredible. It's hard for me to talk about it."
